Inspired by the simplicity and continuous stroke of Chinese/ Kanji characters;
the design utilizes simple folding technique integrate with shadow play to represent the letters.
The design consist of nine chopstick rest made from folded metal sheet and chrome plating.
Each piece represent number 1-9 in Chinese/ Kanji letter.
Unlike usual chopstick rest that are made from either wood, ceramic or cast-metal, this design utilizes the property of metal sheet. A material that can achieve dynamic form while remaining its former function.
Moreover the material also promotes better hygiene since it is easy to clean and store after use.
